Campaign Unavailable

We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Human Rights Campaign.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Current U.S. immigration law does not allow American citizens or permanent residents to petition for immigration benefits for their same-sex partners.   The Uniting American Families Act (formerly the Permanent Partners Immigration Act) would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to allow Americans to sponsor their same-sex foreign partners for immigration benefits.

Please send a letter to your representative asking him/her to become an original co-sponsor of this important piece of legislation.
