After a request from notoriously anti-gay Senator Rick Santorum, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist announced his intention to force a vote on the so-called Marriage Protection Amendment during the week of June 5. President Bush, bowing to pressure from his extremist right-wing base, has encouraged the Senate to write discrimination into the Constitution.

In the next week, the Senate Judiciary Committee is planning to vote on the amendment, which would ban marriage for same-sex couples, and threaten domestic partnerships and civil unions for all gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) Americans. Your Senators need to hear from you today.
