The short explanation of this alert was:
Breaking news: Your Representative voted YES on the Marriage Protection Amendment (formerly the Federal Marriage Amendment). In other words, they voted to amend the Constitution to discriminate against GLBT Americans. Don't worry - the Amendment did NOT receive the 2/3 majority it needed to pass, but we must let our leaders know that fairminded Americans are outraged by Congressmembers who voted for it.
Please let your Representative know that you're disappointed by their vote. Simply complete the information at right.
