Partnership benefits NOW for GLBT public servants!
If you're the heterosexual spouse of a federal employee, you enjoy all kinds of benefits and protections. If you're the gay partner of a federal employee, you get none.
Major employers in the private sector have corrected this injustice in their own employment practices. It's time for the federal government to catch up. In the name of civil rights and fundamental fairness – but also because it's the only smart way to compete for the best employees – this policy must change!
Tell Congress to pass the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act.
Dear [ Decision Maker ],
As your constituent and a supporter of the Human Rights Campaign, I'm writing to urge you to co-sponsor the Domestic Partnership Benefits Act (H.R. 4838 and S. 2521), which would extend to same-sex domestic partners of federal employees the same protections and benefits enjoyed by opposite-sex couples.
